We were recently called to Shenfield, near Brentwood, Essex, to remove a particularly large yew tree stump. Yew is a beautiful wood, but it’s also known for being extremely dense and hard, which can make stump grinding more challenging than usual.
This stump had a substantial main root ball along with a number of surface roots spreading across the area. Thankfully, our Predator 38 RX radio remote tracked stump grinder was more than up to the task. The machine’s precision and power made light work of the stubborn hardwood, allowing us to efficiently grind the stump well below ground level.
There was also a digger on site, which helped to clear away the mulch as we worked. This kept the site tidy and allowed for a much smoother and cleaner operation, especially given the amount of material removed.
Why Use a Predator 38 RX?
The Predator 38 RX is perfect for tough stumps in tight or awkward locations. Its remote control operation gives precise manoeuvrability, while the track base provides excellent stability and access across all terrain types — ideal for gardens and landscaped areas.
Ready for Replanting or Landscaping
Once the grinding was complete, all visible stump material and surface roots were removed. The area is now ready for replanting, laying turf, or any other landscaping plans the client has in mind.
