This is a question that customers often ask me and the answer is very variable and obviously depends on the size of the tree stump and the type of wood. A small tree stump can take a matter of minutes to grind, whereas something like a large beech tree stump or this large sequoia tree stump which measured 2.3 m across can almost take all day, depending on the hardness of the wood and how long the tree stump has been dead.

This particular apple tree stump that I removed took me approximately 11 minutes as the video shows, it was approximately 15 inches wide. There is a huge difference in grinding times between removing a tree stump of this size, compared with a tree stump, for example, measuring two or 3 feet, the extra volume of wood is considerably more work.

The 15 inch tree stump has now been removed fully by Essex tree stump grinding.

    I’m glad to know that an apple tree stump only took around 11 minutes to remove. My wife and I recently moved to a new house and there is an apple tree stump that we want to get rid of quick so we can plant more trees in our yard. Its good to know it won’t take a long time to get the stump out of the ground and new trees into the ground.
