How long does it take to grind out a tree stump?
This is a question that customers often ask me and the answer is very variable and obviously depends on the size of the tree stump and the type of wood. A small tree stump can take a matter of minutes to grind, whereas something like a large beech tree stump or this large sequoia tree stump which measured 2.3 m across can almost take all day, depending on the hardness of the wood and how long the tree stump has been dead.
Live tree stump grinding, find out how long it takes to grind out a tree stump!
This particular apple tree stump that I removed took me approximately 11 minutes as the video shows, it was approximately 15 inches wide. There is a huge difference in grinding times between removing a tree stump of this size, compared with a tree stump, for example, measuring two or 3 feet, the extra volume of wood is considerably more work.
I normally price my tree stump grinding work either by the size of the tree stump or on a day rate, it’s actually surprising how much I can achieve in a day with the Predator Tree Stump Grinder. I have carried out hundreds of tree stump grinding jobs and each one of them is different.
One of the questions that I normally ask potential customers is what is the diameter of the tree stump, I can then estimate how long it takes to grind out a tree stump. Once again this is dependent on the type of tree, the type of wood to be ground and how long has the tree been cut down?
